The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on the 3500 block of Pio Nono Avenue at around 2:08p.m. It was reported that 25- year -old Shannon Duane Hall Jr. of Macon was traveling north in the left lane of Pio Nono Avenue in a 1984 Chevrolet Impala. Another vehicle had stopped in front of the “U-Save-It” Pharmacy, in the right north bound lane of Pio Nono Avenue. 62-year-old Velma Jackson of Macon and her 23 -year- old son were attempting to cross in front of the stopped vehicle as they were headed across Pio Nono Avenue, towards Spencer Circle. As Hall’s vehicle struck Mrs. Jackson as he was passing the stopped vehicle. Mrs. Jackson’s death was pronounced on scene by Coroner Jones. Mrs. Jackson’s son was not struck. No one else was injured during this incident. The next of kin has been notified by Coroner Jones.
