The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an unidentified body, reported to be a white male, found on the Rail Road tracks near Poplar Street and Terminal Drive just before 11:00 a.m. Monday morning. The incident was called in by Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. When deputies arrived they discovered the body of a white male near the railroad tracks that had been struck by a train.
The male was pronounced dead on scene by Coroner Leon Jones. The name of the male will be released once next of kin is notified.
