The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that took place at Davis Homes, located at 905 Main Street. The incident took place at around 10:30 a.m.
It was reported that investigators were at an apartment that was located on Maynard Street. Investigators were attempting to locate an individual about an investigation. An unknown male was sitting on the porch and moved a handgun from his pocket to his waistband. When investigators spoke to the male, he began to run from the apartment building, headed towards Main Street. The male fired a shot while fleeing. The male then ran behind some apartments that were located at Main Street and Leaf Street. Once the male was behind the apartment building, he turned the gun towards himself and fired.
Investigators arrived behind the apartment building and immediately rendered aid and contacted Emergency Medical Services. When paramedics arrived, the male was transported to the hospital and is currently listed to be in critical condition.
No shots were fired by investigators during this incident.
