The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office would like to let the public know about how the Donald Trump visit will affect citizens on Monday, November 29, 2015.

Traffic will be affected from 4pm until 10pm. Motorist are urged to avoid the roadways around the Macon Centreplex if they are not attending the Trump event. Ticketholders should also be prepared for traffic delays going in and out of the Centreplex.

For those with tickets to attend the Trump event, security will be heightened. No weapons of any kind will be permitted inside the venue. There will be metal detectors and bag checks. Law Enforcement and volunteers will be present inside the venue to assist ticketholders.

Anyone who will be protesting outside the Centreplex will see a large sheriff’s presence. This is to ensure safety for all citizens, including protesters.

All attendees are reminded to obey the law while making their views heard.

This is not the first time deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office have been tasked with providing security for visiting dignitaries and their venues. Deputies have handled details for Presidents Clinton and Obama, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Clinton and numerous entertainers and celebrities. Other agencies assisting the Secret Service with this event are the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, Norfolk Southern Railroad Police, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Police Department, Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, Macon-Bibb County E911 Center, Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency, Navicent Health Ambulance Service and Mid Georgia Ambulance Service.

Sheriff Davis has been involved in the planning stage and said, “The only thing different about this event is we didn’t have months to plan but that’s why we have action plans and partnerships with various entities that can be brought forth at times like this. All the Sheriff’s Office wants is for everyone to remain safe and to be as inconvenienced as little as possible.”
