MEDIA RELEASE: Homicide Suspect in Custody
A suspect wanted in connection with the Homicide Investigation of 16-year-old Ahmori Searcy, was taken into custody Saturday night, by Butts County Sheriff’s deputies. Zontravon Keontae Hernandez, age 20, was stopped for a traffic violation on Highway 87, near the Monroe County line. Butt’s County Sheriff’s deputies took Hernandez into custody after confirming that he had warrants from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Hernandez was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on Monday. He is currently being held, without bond, for the charges of Murder and Armed Robbery.
Investigators are still asking for the public’s assistance for the whereabouts of 21-year-old Vernon DeShawn Grable, in connection to this Homicide Investigation.

Asking for Public’s Assistance In Locating Two Wanted Persons In Homicide Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects wanted in a Homicide Investigation. The incident occurred on March 3, 2021, at 2590 Rocky Creek Road, Majestic Gardens Apartments.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 20-year-old Zontravon Keontae Hernandez, of Macon, and 21-year-old Vernon Deshawn Grable, of Byron, regarding the homicide of 16-year-old Amerie Searcy. Both Hernandez and Grable are known to frequent the south Macon and Bloomfield areas. Warrants have been issued for Murder on both Hernandez and Grable.

Homicide Investigation on Rocky Creek Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that was reported to have occurred at 2590 Rocky Creek Road, Majestic Gardens Apartments just after 7:00 p.m.
It was reported that 16-year-old Ahmori Searcy, of Macon, was walking in the parking lot of Majestic Garden Apartments when an unknown subject began shooting. Searcy was struck once during the incident. Searcy was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office Personnel. No one else was injured during the incident.
There is no information on the suspect at this time.
