Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies located and arrested a homicide suspect after a tip was called in to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Robert James Ottman Jr., age 17, was located at a boarding house on Ponce De Leon Avenue at around 1:06 a.m.

Ottman was taken into custody, without incident, in connection with the fatal shooting investigation of Kenneth Wendell Snead.

Ottman was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and is being held, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

Homicide Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 11:51 a.m., Friday.

It was reported that 24-year-old Kenneth Wendell Snead Jr., of Macon, was fatally wounded during an altercation that occurred at the Blossom Hill Estates Apartments, located at 4006 Mercer University Drive. There were no other injuries reported during this incident.

Snead was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased.  The next of kin has been notified.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking 17-year-old Robert James Ottman Jr. He is wanted for questioning in reference to this investigation.
