The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred at 967 Elder Street. It was reported that 63 year old Thomas Knighton, who lives at the duplex apartment on Elder Street, had not been seen since Friday, according to a neighbor. The neighbor decided to walk over to check on Knighton. The neighbor reported he found Knighton inside the apartment on the floor unresponsive. The neighbor called 911 for help.
At around 4:05PM Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to the scene along with emergency medical services. Knighton was lying on the floor of the apartment with a cut to his throat. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin was notified by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators are interviewing possible witnesses and are processing evidence.
