The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision that occurred just after 8:00 p.m. on Pio Nono Avenue near Dewy Street.
It was reported that a 57-year-old female subject was walking in the southbound lanes of Pio Nono Avenue when she was struck by a Toyota 4Runner that was traveling southbound in the right lane. The female was transported to Atrium Health where she was pronounced deceased by staff. No one else was injured during the incident. The driver of the Toyota was a 73-year-old female of Macon.
The name of the deceased will be released when next of kin has been notified.
