The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal, single vehicle, traffic collision that took place on Northside Drive, near its intersection with Athens Drive. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 1:35 p.m.
It was reported that a male driver was traveling south on Northside Drive when his vehicle crossed over the northbound lanes of travel. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated.
The male was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
