The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic collision that occurred around 12:49 p.m. Wednesday.
It was reported that a 50-year-old male of Macon was driving a 2006 Honda Accord eastbound on Lower Thomaston Road. The driver went off road near the intersection of Lower Thomaston Road and Moseley Dixon Road and hit a utility pole.
First responders were able to remove the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No one else was injured in the collision. The next of kin has not been notified. The name of the driver will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
