The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred just after 3:00 a.m. on the I-16 westbound ramp to I-75 northbound.
It was reported that a 57-year-old male of Perry, was driving a Yamaha motorcycle on the ramp from I-16 westbound to I-75 northbound. While in the construction area, a tarp that was in the roadway, that the motorcycle ran over, got caught in the rear tire causing the motorcycle to lose control and hit the guard rail. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner R. Robinson. No one else was injured in the collision. The next of kin has not been notified at this time.
