The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision that occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on Georgia Avenue at Monroe Street.

It was reported that a Nissan Frontier, driven by 33-year-old Tiffany Hokulani Sayers, of Atlanta, failed to stop at the stop sign on Monroe Street at Georgia Avenue. Her vehicle collided with a GMC Sierra, driven by 61-year-old Jimmie Long, of Lizella. Long’s vehicle flipped over, and he was ejected. Long was transported to the Atrium Health Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Sayers had her six-year-old daughter in the vehicle with her at the time of the collision. No one else was injured during the incident. The next of kin has been notified at this time.

Sayers was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Endangering a Child by Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Hit and Run, and Vehicular Homicide. She is being held without bond at this time.
