The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Eisenhower Parkway at I-475 northbound on October 24, 2021, just after 2:00 p.m.

It was reported that a Chevy Cobalt, driven by 84-year-old Tilda Wilson of Byron, was traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway and was making a left turn onto the I-475 northbound ramp when it was struck by a Ford Mustang. The Ford Mustang, driven by a 35-year-old male of Fort Valley, was traveling west on Eisenhower Parkway when it struck Wilson’s vehicle. Wilson was transported to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment. The driver of the Mustang was also transported and treated for minor injuries.

On October 26, 2021, at 09:15 a.m. Wilson succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley at the Atrium Health Navicent. The next of kin has been notified at this time.
