The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision, involving two vehicles, that occurred on Martin Luther King Boulevard near its intersection with Pine Street. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 12:26 a.m.
It was reported that the driver of a Nissan Rogue, that was traveling north on Martin Luther King Boulevard, started to slow down for upcoming traffic. A second vehicle, a Kia Soul, also traveling north behind the Nissan did not slow down. The Kia collided into the back of the Nissan causing the Nissan to roll over. The driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
The female driver of the Kia and her male passenger were also transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. The female driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased at the hospital by Coroner Luanne Stone. The name of deceased will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
