The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Gray Highway at Hall Street at 6:58 p.m.
It was reported that 50-year-old Carol Denise Reese, of Macon, was crossing Gray Highway, going from east to west, walking when she ran in front of a vehicle. The vehicle was a Toyota Tacoma driven by 30-year-old Jorge Colpop, of Macon, who was driving south on Gray Highway when his vehicle struck Reese.
Reese was transported to the Navicent Health and was pronounced deceased by staff. Next of kin has been notified at this time.
The accident is still under investigation, anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
