The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Montpelier Avenue at Holt Ave at around 10:00pm Thursday night. It was reported that 63 year old Bobby Lewis Wright of Macon was standing in the roadway on Montpelier Avenue when he was struck by 2002 silver BMW 325ci, driven by 26 year old Spencer Alexander Carter of Macon. The BMW was traveling west on Montpelier Avenue at the time of the accident. Montpelier Avenue between Virginia Avenue and Duncan Avenue was blocked for approximately 2 hours while Bibb County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Investigators worked the accident scene. No other injuries were reported. Wright’s next of kin was notified by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. No charges have been made at this time as the accident is currently under investigation.
