The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Jeffersonville Road near Piedmont Drive at around 8:20 p.m. tonight. It was reported that 74 year old Yvonne Clayton of Macon was crossing the roadway on Jeffersonville Road when she was struck by white 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 28 year old Christine Fincher of Drybranch. The Equinox was traveling east on Jeffersonville Road at the time of the accident.
The 3500 block of Jeffersonville Road is blocked while Bibb County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Investigators worked the accident scene. No other injuries were reported. Clayton’s next of kin was notified by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
