The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident, on Jeffersonville Road that occurred at around 11:01 p.m. Wednesday night.
According to witnesses, a female driving a Kia Optima was making a left turn from Jeffersonville Road onto Ruark Road when she collided with a dirt bike. The male, who was operating the dirt bike, was crossing over Ruark Road at the time that the female driver was making the left turn. The dirt bike did not have lights and the female driver reportedly did not see the motorcyclist.
The driver of the Kia was not injured. The motorcyclist, 31-year-old Sidney Stone, was transported to the Navicent Hospital by ambulance. Stone was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to the Coroner’s Office, the next of kin has been notified.
