The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred just before 9:35AM, Monday morning. The accident occurred at 2121 Riverside Dr, Riverside Animal Hospital.
It was reported that the driver of a 2004 Lincoln town car, 92 year old Dorothy C. Elder of Macon, was parking her vehicle in the parking lot of Riverside Animal Hospital. Elder thought she had placed the vehicle in park but placed it in reverse. Elder attempted to exit the vehicle when it rolled back onto her. Elder was transported to the Navicent Health Center where she was later pronounced dead. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones has notified the next of kin.
The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the “on-call” accident investigator.
