The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred just before 9:00 pm Monday night, in the 500 block of Pierce Avenue.
It was reported that the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet HHR , 66-year-old Deborah Beckwith, of Macon, was traveling north bound on Pierce Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree. Beckwith was transported to the Navicent Heath where she was pronounced dead. The next of kin was notified by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the “on-call” accident investigator.
