The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place just before 6:00 p.m.
The accident occurred on Emery Highway westbound, just before the intersection of Short Street east. It was reported by a witness that the driver of a motorcycle lost control after attempting to avoid a vehicle that merged into his lane. The driver lost control and flipped the motorcycle. The vehicle that merged into the lane continued westbound and may not have known they merged in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist later identified as 51-year-old, Aaron West, was transported to the Navicent Health Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
