The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single vehicle traffic collision that took place at around 10:29 a.m., Sunday. The collision occurred at the Interstate 475/ Interstate 75 split, just north of Hartley Bridge Road.

According to witness statements, the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser was traveling north on Interstate 75. The driver began to merge onto Interstate 475, then made a sudden maneuver to merge back onto Interstate 75 north. The driver lost control while making the maneuver. The vehicle began to roll over several times before coming to a complete stop.

The vehicle had four occupants. All of the vehicle’s occupants are from Albany, Georgia. The driver, 57-year-old Mark Bruno, was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased. The front seat passenger,24-year-old DeAndre McGhee, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two rear seat passengers are reported to be in stable condition.

According to Coroner Leon Jones, next of kin of the deceased has been notified.
