The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit and run that was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
It was reported that a deceased male victim was lying on the sidewalk on Mercer University Drive, across from Dexter Avenue. Fatality Investigators were called to the scene after the preliminary investigation showed that the male was a victim of a hit and run collision.
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coroner Leon Jones. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office are attempting to identify the male so that they can contact the next of kin.
