The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit and run that was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 2:17 a.m., Wednesday morning.
It was reported that a male was struck while walking on Interstate 16 (westbound) at its intersection with Interstate 75 (northbound). The description of the vehicle that struck the male is unknown at this time.
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. The male victim’s name will not be released until the next of kin has been identified.
