The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian traffic collision that occurred on the Spring Street Bridge just before the Exxon gas station located at 36 Spring Street.
It was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 5:28 a.m. Friday morning. It was reported that a pedestrian was in the roadway when he was fatally struck by a Chevrolet truck traveling south on Spring Street. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by Bibb County Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. No one else was injured in this incident.
The name will not be given until the next of kin has been notified. This collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500.
