The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Macon-Bibb Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1424 Fourth Avenue at 06:59 a.m.
When they arrived the house was fully involved. The Fire Department was able to keep the fire from spreading to any other houses. Firefighters found a male deceased in the residence.
At this time the person’s identification has not been confirmed, nor the cause of the fire. An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death and identification. The person was squatting in the vacant residence.
