Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies along with firefighters with the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department responded to a house fire at 745 Woodridge Road just after 3:08 a.m. this morning. It was reported that one of the residents in the house woke up finding the basement on fire. Two people and 1 dog were in the house at the time of the fire.
One person in the home, identified as 57 year old Sherrel McGlynn was rushed to the Navicent Health for injuries sustained in the fire. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. Another person in the home, identified as 57 year old Troy Thomaston, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog also died in the fire. It was reported that both occupants appeared to be attempting to flee from the fire but were overwhelmed by the smoke.
