Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Eisenhower Parkway, near its intersection with Log Cabin Drive. The accident occurred shortly after 7:00a.m., Wednesday morning.
It was reported that 30-year-old, Riesha Roshelle Veal of Macon was traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway in a 2003 Honda Accord. Veal was in the left lane of travel. Teresa Owen Gracia, age 58, from Macon, was crossing the road, from the right lane, into the left lane when accident occurred.
Gracia was transported to the Navicent by ambulance. Once at the hospital, she was pronounced deceased. Veal was reported to be unharmed.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified. This fatal traffic accident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
