A Bibb County Detention Center Inmate fled from a work truck, after faking an illness, at around 9:00a.m. Friday morning.  It was reported that 20-year- old Ishmael Christopher Williams was working off his community service hours at Lake Tobosofkee. Williams began to fake an illness and was being transported back to the Bibb County Detention Center when the incident occurred.

The Lake Tobosofkee work truck was stopped for the red traffic light at the intersection of Mercer University and Pio Nono Avenue when Williams began to act as if he was getting sick.  Williams got out of the truck, he stood next to the truck, continuing to fake being sick and then fled towards a wooded area in the direction of Eisenhower Parkway as he stripped off his Bibb County Detention Center Shirt.

Williams was originally in jail for the charges of “Criminal Trespass” – (misdemeanor) and “Probation Violation State Court”.  A warrant for the charge of “Escape Before Conviction” is being issued for Williams.

Williams is described as a black male with a “dread locks” hair style. He is around 6 feet in height and he weighs approximately 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and white pants with a blue stripe running down the sides of each leg.

Anyone with information in reference to the location of Williams is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or you can call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
