Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies make an arrest in connection with a Commercial Armed Robbery at Family Dollar, at 951 Hillcrest Boulevard.

On July 21, 2023, just before 3:00 p.m., deputies responded to Family Dollar after receiving reports of a disgruntled male inside the business stealing merchandise. It was reported to deputies that the suspect was observed stuffing merchandise in his clothes. When the store clerk confronted the suspect, the suspect brandished a boxcutter towards the store clerk in a threatening manner. The suspect fled the business on foot.

After reviewing video surveillance from the store’s cameras, deputies were able to identify the suspect as fifty-five-year-old Thomas Dewayne Williams of Macon. After a brief search, the deputy and investigator were able to locate Williams and apprehend him without incident.

Thomas Dewayne Williams was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he faces a charge of Commercial Armed Robbery. Williams is currently being held without bond.
