Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators along with Patrol deputies were able to capture a suspect they witnessed breaking into the vacant Kroger located at 400 Pio Nono Avenue at 5:20 a.m. today.
Investigators were checking the area of the old Kroger when they witnessed a male subject going onto the roof of the building using a ladder. With the assistance of deputies on patrol, they were able to locate the suspect inside of the air ductwork on the roof. After a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody. He was identified as 50-year-old Christopher Scott Stevenson, of Macon.
Stevenson was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with Burglary, he also had warrants for his arrest from the Gordon Police Department and the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held without bond at this time.
