The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened in the 9200 block of Knoxville Road.
At 6:39 a.m. deputies responded to a call of a person down on the side of the road in the 9200 block of Knoxville Road. Upon arrival deputies found 24-year-old Mariah Loren Stanfield, of Macon, with multiple gunshot wounds. Stanfield was pronounced deceased by Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone at the scene. The next of kin has been notified.
