The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 1900 block of Cedar Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, night.
Deputies responded to a duplex on Cedar Ave in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found a 36-year-old male later identified as Gregory William Thomas, suffering from gunshot wounds. It was reported that Thomas was attending a gathering at this location. He was sitting on the front porch of the location and shortly after gunshots were heard. Thomas was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The next of kin has been notified.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still determining what led up to the shooting.
