The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence inside Bloomfield Townhomes located at 4995 Bloomfield Road. The incident occurred just after 3:00 p.m., Thursday.
A call came into the E-911 Center at 3:02 p.m. reporting a shooting. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a twenty-two-year-old female and forty-eight-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported both victims to a medical facility for treatment. No one else was harmed as a result of the incident.
According to medical staff, the forty-eight-year-old male succumbed to his injuries at the medical facility. His identity will not be released at this time. The next of kin has not been notified. The twenty-two-year-old female is listed in critical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
