Death Investigation Of Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center Inmate
Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators are looking into the death of an inmate that was serving time at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. Terry Keith Bedingfield, 52 years old, was found unconscious on his bed inside of the dormitory at around 7:00PM this evening. Deputies and medical staff at the detention center performed CPR on Bedingfield until EMS arrived and took over. Bedingfield was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital where he later died. He was pronounced deceased just after 7:30PM by doctors at the Navicent Health.
Investigators do not suspect foul play at this time. Bedingfield had a medical issue that he was being treated for. An autopsy will be performed according to the Bibb County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death. His next of kin has been notified.
Bedingfield was serving time at the detention center in reference to a DUI.
