Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators with the assistance of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SRT unit, arrested a commercial burglary suspect.
After further investigation, investigators were able to identify and arrest 39-year-old Michael Antoine Cornelius, of Macon for the burglary of seven local businesses. The locations burglarized by Cornelius are:
- Dollar General, located at 4471 Jeffersonville Road, burglarized on June 10, 2020 at 1:39 a.m.
- Family Dollar, located at 3002 Shurling Dr., burglarized on June 10, 2020 at 3:13 a.m.
- Dollar General, located at 3407 Napier Ave., burglarized on June 10, 2020 at 5:05 a.m.
- Family Dollar, located at 2035 Shurling Dr., burglarized on June 10, 2020 at 6:20 a.m.
- Thunderbird Liquor, located at 2585 Emery Highway, burglarized on June 11, 2020 at 10:09 p.m.
- Family Dollar, located at 4625 Mercer University Dr., burglarized on June 12, 2020 at 12:45 a.m.
- Exxon Gas, located at 4290 Dellwood Dr., burglarized on June 12, 2020 at 12:54 a.m.
Deputies served arrest warrants on Cornelius during a traffic stop without incident on June 12, 2020. Cornelius was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with seven counts of burglary. He is being held without bond at this time.
