The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred just after 1:00 a.m., Sunday morning, at Mikata Japanese Steakhouse , located at 2792 Riverside Drive. The business was closed at the time of the incident.
It was reported that the victim, an employee, had locked up the business after closing and walked to the parking lot, getting into his vehicle. He said a black male approached his vehicle, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a black stocking mask. The suspect displayed a pistol and ordered him to open up the restaurant door. The suspect entered the restaurant and took some bottles of liquor from the bar and made the victim give him his wallet which contained some cash. The suspect then fled out of the back door of the restaurant in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the incident. No other information is available on the suspect.
