Publix Robbery Suspect

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Publix, located at 5451 Bowman Rd. At around 1:09p.m., a black male suspect entered the store and approached the customer service counter. The suspect waited patiently until no one was around, then lifted the front of his shirt, displaying a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the register. Once the suspect received and undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the store. The suspect walked out of the store and then ran towards the east side of the parking lot. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black male. He is around 6 feet in height and around 160 lbs in weight. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hat, possibly displaying a “Baltimore Raven’s logo” on the front. The suspect had on a long sleeved light blue colored button down shirt with blue square designs on it. He also had on blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The shoes may have a dark blue or black “Nike check” logo on the side.

Representatives of Publix stated that the suspect may be connected with several commercial armed robberies of the Publix stores in the Atlanta area. It was reported that the suspect would patiently approach the customer service counter, lift the front of his shirt, and display a handgun  as he demands money from the register.
