The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at about 6:00AM this morning at the Citgo Convenience Store located at 1803 Pionono Avenue. It was reported that a black male entered the business and went directly behind the counter. The store clerk followed the suspect and got into a physical altercation with the suspect. The suspect opened one cash drawer taking the money out of it. During the robbery the suspect fired one shot into the ceiling, from what appeared to be a dark colored, semi-automatic pistol. The suspect grabbed a second cash register after attempting to open it. He fled the store on foot, running in a direction behind the store, with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk was not injured during the incident.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing black cargo pants, a black t-shirt under a gray hooded sweatshirt, black Converse style tennis shoes and a red bandana covering his face. The sweatshirt had red letters with the word “Wisconsin” on the front. He is described as being 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches in height. His weight is unknown.
