A Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigator, attached to the U.S. Marshal’s South Eastern Regional Fugitive Task Force, located a vehicle matching the description of a suspect vehicle that was used in several burglaries in the north Macon area. The investigator stopped the silver, 2001 Acura MDX, in the drive way of a residence, located on Sherrill Drive, around 12:09p.m. Three suspects  in the vehicle were detained while Property Investigators were called to the scene.

Investigators discovered that the suspects had items inside of the vehicle, possibly from a residential burglary that the suspects had just committed. The items ranged from bags of jewelry, computers, a flat screen television, and a handgun.

This vehicle was seen at a burglary that occurred on Glenwood Drive, near the Whitehouse Plantation area on January 15,2019.

The suspects were taken to the Investigations Office and interviewed and then transported to the Bibb County Jail.

Jurreginald Wanya Mitchell 22 years-old was charged with two counts of Burglary and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is being held without bond.

Jeremy Bernard Hicks Jr. 22 year-old was charged with two counts of Burglary and Possession of Firearm during Commission of a Felony. He is being held without bond.

Matthew Thomas Burnett 23 year-old was charged with two counts of Burglary and Possession of Firearm during Commission of a Felony. He is being held without bond.

 Asking for the Public’s Assistance in a Burglary Investigation

Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Division is asking for the public’s assistance in helping identify and locate a vehicle of interest in connection to a residential burglary in north Macon, Glenwood Dr. area. The burglary happened on January 15, 2019, between 09:00am and 1:00pm.  The vehicle was seen leaving the area and captured on video.

The vehicle is silver Acura MDX SUV. Photographs of the vehicle of interest are attached to this media release.
