Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to what was reported as a domestic call at 161 Decatur Avenue just after 5:30PM this afternoon. It was reported that a white male subject was at the home and was not supposed to be there. Deputies met with one of the residents of the home that told them a white male by the name of Christopher Poole had broken into the house. Deputies made contact with Poole at the front door of the home. Poole ran into a back room and shut the door, locking himself in the room.
Deputies backed out of the house and attempted to make contact with Poole many times, with no response. One of the residents of the home told deputies that there was a gun in the home. Bibb County Sheriff’s Hostage Negotiators and SWAT Team responded to the scene. After several more unsuccessful attempts to establish contact with Poole, the SWAT Team entered the home and safely took 36 year old Christopher Poole into custody just after 9:30PM.
Poole was not injured and was checked out by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with Burglary, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer and Terroristic Threats. He also has an outstanding warrant on an unrelated charge from Houston County.
