A Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy discovered a man lying in next to the road at the corner of Poplar and Third Street at around 1:00a.m. Friday morning. The deputy noticed that the male had been shot.
The male victim was immediately transported to the Navicent by ambulance. According to the hospital staff, he passed away at around 3:30a.m. The male’s identity is unknown at this time.
Through the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the unknown male was involved in an altercation at a local night club, prior to the incident. Investigators are continuing to speak with possible witnesses to determine what happened and also identify the male.
Investigators are looking for a gold or tan in colored GMC Yukon or Tahoe that was seen in the area when the incident occurred.
