An investigation on Friday night led to the arrest of 46 year old Sheriff’s Deputy David Wayne Whigham. It was reported that Whigham got into an argument with his wife Friday evening at their residence. The argument led to a physical altercation with his wife. The call came in just before 8:30 p.m. and Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the residence. Mrs. Whigham is also a deputy with the Bibb Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Whigham has been charged with Battery (Family Violence). He is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Bond has not been set. Mr. Whigham is also suspended from duty at the Bibb Sheriff’s Office pending an internal investigation.
