An investigation led to the arrest of 23 year old Bibb Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Conner. It was reported that on March 19, 2015, Deputy Conner arrested a 25 year old female after a brief foot chase on Mercer University Drive at the I-75 overpass. Conner placed the female in his patrol vehicle. The female became disruptive. Conner went to the rear of the vehicle where the female was sitting. He struck the female in the face as she was hand cuffed in the rear of his patrol vehicle while securing her in the seatbelt.

 

An internal investigation as well as a criminal investigation was conducted on Deputy Conner and the incident.  Conner was placed on desk duty while the investigation was being conducted on this incident as well as a separate incident that occurred on March 20, 2015 where he responded to a call of an attempted suicide. It was reported that Conner displayed a loss of temper, being verbally abusive and threatening to arrest the patient. In this incident he was found to be in violation of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office policy of the Rules of Conduct for “Unbecoming Conduct”.

 

 

Today, May 20, 2015, Deputy Seth Conner was terminated from employment with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. He was also arrested and charged with Battery and Violation of Oath of Office. He was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. His bond is set at $3,280.00.
