Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrested a female individual during a “Burglary in Progress” that occurred at 5:26 a.m., Friday morning.

A Bibb County Sheriff’s deputy was patrolling the 2400 block of Pio Nono Avenue when they noticed that the front glass of the Family Dollar, located at 2495 Pio Nono Avenue, was busted out. The deputy approached the business, and noticed a female individual dragging a crate full of merchandise, out of the store.

The female spotted the approaching deputy and attempted to flee the scene. After a brief foot pursuit, the female was apprehended and identified as 31-year-old Jaleise Chanel Mintz,of Macon.

Mintz was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, and charged with the Family Dollar burglary. Mintz was also served with an arrest warrant for a Commercial Burglary that occurred in August of 2020.  Mintz is accused of breaking into a store and stealing lottery tickets. That store is located in the 1200 block of Anthony Road.

Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies transported Mintz to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, and she is currently being held, without bond, for two counts of Burglary.

Additional charges are pending further investigation.
