Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies and Investigators responded to a call of a personal armed robbery that occurred around 3:44a.m. Sunday morning, at the America’s Best hotel, located at 4941 Harrison Road. It was reported that a male was standing outside of his hotel room, when he was approached by two black males and a white female. One of the males brandished a handgun and demanded that the victim hand over his shoes, valuables, and clothing articles from inside of the hotel room. After the male suspect received the items, he and the two other individuals fled the area in a dark colored, four door vehicles.
Through the course of the investigation the suspect was identified and was found to be staying at the Bridgeview hotel, located at 6000 Harrison Road.
Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators obtained and served a search warrant on the hotel room. Investigators recovered some of the items from the armed robbery incident and arrested suspect, Samuel Mathis Dixon III, age 37 from Macon.
Dixon was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he is being held, without bond, for the charge of Armed Robbery.
