Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a person shot at around 4:45PM today at 4151 Pinson Street. Deputies found 38 year old Derrick K. Booze in the backyard of the residence with a gunshot wound to the head. The wound was self-inflicted and Booze was pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported Booze was at a gathering at the residence when he went out to the backyard and shot himself.

Booze was a person of interest, wanted for questioning in the homicide of 30 year old LaSmockie Fountain that occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 3565 Case Street. Booze also had warrants for his arrest for a previous incident that occurred with Fountain.
