Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, at the request of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested 37-year-old Antonio Marquez Chapman from Macon. Chapman was located in Arcadia, Florida. Chapman is currently in custody of the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office. Chapman was wanted in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on October 12, 2019. Chapman was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force located a second suspect, also wanted in connection to the October 12th shooting incident. Jeffery Isaiah McCrary, age 33, from Macon, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, while he was at work in Fort Valley.

It was discovered during the investigation that the suspects also robbed the victim of personal items and stole his vehicle. At around 5:51 a.m., the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle fire located in the 2400 block of Lowe Street. The vehicle is reported to have belonged to the victim.

Chapman and McCrary are both charged with Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, and Arson-1st degree. McCrary is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond. Chapman is awaiting extradition.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Person Shot

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a person shot that occurred on Thomas Street, just after 04:25 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to the Navicent Health Medical Center where the victim was taken by private vehicle.

The victim was a 27-year-old male, from Macon, who was shot multiple times. It was reported that the victim was at a party on Thomas Street when he got into an altercation. During the altercation an unknown male pulled a gun and started shooting. 

A friend of the victim transported him to the hospital after everyone left the party. The victim is listed in stable condition at this time.
