Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators issued an arrest warrant today on 54 year old Philleria Cross for Cruelty to Children. On Monday, December 19, 2016, a report was made with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office by a Department of Family and Children Services employee about the incidents involving Cross.
It was reported that DFACS was notified of a case where two children at Northwoods Academy, located at 709 Pierce Avenue, were being abused by Cross who was teaching at the academy at the time. The two children who are 4 years old were reported to have been struck by Cross on more than one occasion. The arrest warrant states that the incidents occurred between the dates of October 31, 2016 and November 2, 2016.
Cross turned herself in today at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Center at around 2:20 p.m. Bond for Cross was set at $16,500.00. She was released from the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center after making bond. It is reported that Cross is on administrative leave from the school.
