Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 3497 Pio Nono Avenue, Hot Wings Plus, Wednesday night at around 10:15 p.m. in reference to a person shot. When deputies arrived they met with a Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigator who was rendering aid to the male victim that had been shot.
It was reported that the victim, an employee of the business, had just walked out of the restaurant after closing up with other employees. He had got into his vehicle when a black male dressed in dark clothing and a white top, came out from behind the business and started shooting at the victim’s vehicle and the victim. He was struck several times. At about the same time an investigator with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was traveling north on Pio Nono Avenue when he heard someone screaming for help. He saw two vehicles parked on the side of Pio Nono Avenue near the restaurant with two females beside the vehicles. The investigator pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and saw the male victim lying on the ground and realized he had been shot. As the investigator was rendering aid, he heard more gunshots coming from a distance behind the building. The suspect jumped into a dark colored vehicle parked off of Rice Mill Road and fled the scene. A bag believed to contain money from the business was also taken from the victim.
The victim was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for the gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
